I think most decent digicams have a buffer to permit multiple shots to be taken
in quick succession - certainly mine does.  That notwithstanding, you can get
'Hi-speed' SD cards that have a pretty decent read/write rate.  So I wouldn't be
put off if your chosen camera employs SD memory.
