[wellylug] New twist to open Solaris

Yeah this is huge. I attended the Sydney Open Solaris User Group (SOSUG)
last week and Sun's Open Source champion Simon Phipps was speaking. He
iterated some of the conversations he held with Ian Murdock.

Basically the problem is that there is no reason why 90% of the gnu
tools shouldn't work equally well between Linux and Solaris and anyone
who learns Linux or Solaris should be able to easily swicth between the
two. There is a Linux stack and a Solaris stack of which Gnome /  X /
Mozilla / Open Office etc etc etc are all the same. The difference
between Linux and Solaris should really only be the kernel.

There should be abunch more info coming out on Sun's position shortly
but it all looks like goodness!
