Rubbish.  Java is a programming language, a specialized machine code
specification, a virtual machine to execute the machine codes, a whole
bunch of security-related stuff, and a fricking huge library
containing everything from data structures and algorithms to a
complete set of user interface components.

It is also essentially a failure at its stated goals, being strong
today only in long-running server programs with no user interface, and
in games on phones (where, by the way, game writers need to create
many many different versions for different phones, to work around bugs
etc in different VMs and phone software).
