I have a friend who just bought one (eeepc) for his girlfriend, he
streams dvds to it using vlc on both the client and the server.
They both like it very much, as do I. I would prefer the screen to be
a little bigger and 8G flash and longer battery life. They are however
perfectly adequate for most of what I would want a laptop for, web
browsing, a shell (ssh, coding, irc) and capable of driving a 1024x768
monitor for presentations.
