Yes, good site, but be careful - avoid "PC OnLine Shop" like the
plague! A friend bought a $150 hard disk drive from them that failed
to POST after about an hour. Wouldn't work in any other machines we
tried it in. He sent it back under their RMA instructions and didn't
hear a thing for six weeks.
So he emailed them (several times) to find out the story and they said
they would send him a replacement. A few days later a HDD arrived. We
inspected it only to discover it was the SAME disk (and no it wasn't
fixed). It also looked like someone had dropped it as one of the
protective cover corners was now bent upwards.
So my friend rang PC OnLine Shop and asked them what the story was. I
speak to them myself too. The man is very apologetic and tells my
friend to send the disk to a different address and they'll send out a
replacement immediately. He does this and a few days later gets an
auto-generated courier despatch email. A few more days later a hard
disk drive turns up.
It's the SAME hard disk drive! They sent him back the one he just sent
out to them!
Incredible - two months later and he has nothing to show for it. My
friend is down about $200 - the disk drive cost as well as two
separate courier charges (for sending it back twice). At this point he
has decided to write it off and just go elsewhere.
PC OnLine Shop's operators are either morons or criminals. Avoid them.
