NZ-based traffic - well, yes, I think there is a wee issue to do with
network topology there. If the original poster cares about having an
ISP which peers with the rest of the NZ internet, then neither TC nor
Xtra is the best choice.

Having said that, I have 4Mbps TC cable at home and do see performance
as advertised off that - where stupid routing hasn't got in the way.
Also, on a related note, TC have recently hired a whole lot of new
helpdesk monkeys which has reduced wait times considerably
