Nope, you can actually upgrade them on the fly; init 1,
do some magic (i.e. follow the instructions) and off you
go.  Just upgraded 2 11.0 installs to 12.0 with no hassles.
In fact, one of those machines has been running Slack since 8
w/o a re-install ... just kept upgrading.
