[wellylug] Multiple Boots from an 80 GB HDD (ACER # 4315 PC)

This is something I'll do eventually. This may be an obvious
question, but does the number of OS' one can load depend
upon the HDD size? That is to say Ubuntu # 8.04 appears to
chew up quite a bit of the available space on my 80 GB HDD.
It would seem I might be able to put perhaps two other
Ubuntu versions on the HDD. For the moment I intend to try
various versions of Ubuntu from a DVD, to get a clearer idea
about what OS I prefer. Incidentally, apart from observing
"Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer", and being
aware loading from a DVD( after checking the DVD is ok) is
slower than from a HDD, are there any hiccups to be aware
