[wellylug] Good Practice and Policy

I need a guide to a good practice/policy document suitable to for 
ordinary desktop users to access when they need to know stuff like where 
files go in this outfit, who is doing backup, what are the preferred 
practices regarding turning pcs off at night, weekends, lunch hour, 
etc.Most voluntary organiosations I know have quite a high turnover, and 
training is often skimped due to lack of availability.  Anyone done this?

I am not talking about one of those policy manuals which is intended to 
lay down the law, and be used to discipline someone for looking at the 
wrong stuff on the internet, or not checking the av on a daily basis.  I 
am looking for a useful guide.
