I'd be interested to know what happens if you try runnning a 40 or 60W
incandescent light bulb off your UPS when the battery is online. Does
it flicker really badly? I understand if you'd rather not do this.

NUT support for Dynamix UPSs was added last month in 2.2.1. I didn't
realise there was Linux software on the included CD. I will have to
try that.
