[wellylug] Internet email blocked

For the information of people who helped and in case you encounter it again
in the hands of someone as dopey as me, the answer was simply that I had not
ticked the 'all protocols' box in Firefox under the 'manual proxy
configuration' option.
The result of course was that other than for standard http the browser
couldn't find the proxy.
