"Product support for the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is _not_ provided by Microsoft
Corporation or its subsidiaries. ..."

Then, from the warranty & special provisions for OZ, NZ or Papua New Guinea:

"... PC manufacturer warrants that ... the software will perform substantially
in accordance with the accompanying Product Manual(s) for a period of 90 days
from the date of receipt ..."

Thus MS didn't even pretend it was actually going to work, this was explicitly
only up to the PC manufacturer, who only claimed it will mostly work like it
should for 90 days. 

But still people bought it!!!! Call MS stupid, then look at who keeps on paying
them to see who the adjective better fits IMHO :-)
