The above describes why lost property doesn't work. Not enough people 
hand in what they find. (hint?)

My wife lost her house keys once.  We recovered them from the local Police 
Station the next day.  Very, very grateful that someone actualy did the 
right thing.

I found someones 18+ card on the road a few weeks ago. Took it to the 
local Police Station as it was only a block or two away.  They contacted 
the owner and returned it.

One forgets that Police have a wider role in the community, eh?
