Hi all
I have something odd here.
3 Pcs : one is Opensuse accessing a windows 7 machine and an old 2000 one.
Linux can access all shares on the old 2000 by asking me login/password,
then I can see and access all.
When I try the same on the windows 7 machine, same thing login/password
but only on some shares.
For say there is a "Users" folder I can acess without a password but
there is also a raid0 array called data_storage which asks for a password.
Not only I cant see why I need a password for it since all security
stuff is turned off on windows, and second when I enter the
login/password of the only user on windows, it kicks me out.
I tried, me, root, administrator, etc.... not a chance.
I am not even sure if it is a windows or a Linux thing since I have no
troubles to access all the shares on the 2000 windows PC.
Just to be complete :
- security is not an issue
- all users (eg. me, myself and I ) are allowed to do whatever they want
(R/W/E) on the windows shares.
- same workgroup
- conversely Windows does see all my Linux shares and I can access them
(3 opensuse Pcs)
As for RTFM, its done and I dont get it.
Thanks for any help
E
