I am just wondering why you would want to do this in the first place?
Decent ADSL routers are reliable and provide tools for forwarding some or
all Internet ports to an internal IP address.
Seems to me (without a clear use case) you are creating a problem where one
doesn't exist.
i.e. Get a decent ADSL router, forward all ports to your Linux box and
you've got what you are after without forking out a tonne of cash or
breaking Telecom's TOS.
