hi all,
There has been a bit of discussion recently about the plans for
filtering the internet in New Zealand for censorship purposes.
Internet filtering is of great concern to many, whilst the goal of
stamping out child abuse by means of child porn is noble, the problem is
that a censorship system is open to abuse by governments wanting to
block "undesirable" political or social content.

I know that some ISPs already do voluntary filtering, in particular
Telstraclear and Vodafone, which is unfortunate since Telstraclear is
one of the better options for Wellington users. :-(
