Having just successfully installed the Linux version of Adobe Reader on
my debian machine, I am having problems getting it to print. Both my
printers (an Epson Stylus CX3500 and an Epson LQ100 dot matrix) are
recognised, but both give an unhelpful print error "The print proces
returned an error. Please check whether the printer is connected to the
machine" when trying to print. In looking at the printer properties, the
printer command line is as follows:
lpr -P Epson_Stylus_CX3500 -o StpInkSet=None -o StpFullBleed=False -o
PageSize=A4 -o PageRegion=A4 -o ColorModel=CMYK -o
StpColorPrecision=Normal -o MediaType=Plain -o StpQuality=Standard -o
Resolution=None -o OutputOrder=Normal -o StpInkType=None -o
StpPrintingDirection=None -o StpWeave=None -o StpAdjustDotsize=False -o
StpBrightness=None -o StpFineBrightness=None -o StpContrast=None -o
StpFineContrast=None -o StpSaturation=None -o StpFineSaturation=None -o
StpImageType=TextGraphics -o StpCyanDensity=None -o
StpFineCyanDensity=None -o StpMagentaDensity=None -o
StpFineMagentaDensity=None -o StpYellowDensity=None -o
StpFineYellowDensity=None -o StpBlackDensity=None -o
StpFineBlackDensity=None -o StpColorCorrection=None -o StpDensity=None
-o StpFineDensity=None -o StpDitherAlgorithm=None -o
StpLinearContrast=False -o StpGamma=None -o StpFineGamma=None -o
StpCyanGamma=None -o StpFineCyanGamma=None -o StpMagentaGamma=None -o
StpFineMagentaGamma=None -o StpYellowGamma=None -o
StpFineYellowGamma=None -o StpBlackGamma=None -o StpFineBlackGamma=None
-o StpCyanBalance=None -o StpFineCyanBalance=None -o
StpMagentaBalance=None -o StpFineMagentaBalance=None -o
StpYellowBalance=None -o StpFineYellowBalance=None -o StpInkLimit=None
-o StpFineInkLimit=None -o StpBlackTrans=None -o StpFineBlackTrans=None
-o StpGCRLower=None -o StpFineGCRLower=None -o StpGCRUpper=None -o
StpFineGCRUpper=None
I wonder if this should be pointing to Cups rather than lpr, but if so
don't know what the correct command line should be. Any help would be
greatfully appreciated.
Colin
