A little more info would enable us to help :)

How about you fill in the gaps:
What mechanism is sharing the storage out? Samba/NFS/SSH/FTP/knife and plates?
What is the client?
What is the drive connected to and how/where is it mounted?
What is the error?
Any logs etc?
