[wellylug] Shares on external drives

Okay,
I'm a bit fo a novice, but here we go...
It's a samba share. Under Jaunty the network worked perfectly. The clients
were both Windows and Ubuntu. The drive is connected to an Ubuntu (Karmic)
Desk top via usb. I get no error. The permissions on the usb folders are set
to allow no access from any source other then the host machine. I can not
change the permissions using the root account, as they automatically change
back to the original settings. I've been able to determine that it does not
affect the internal drive on the host machine, only the external usb drives.
I'm at a loss and I can't determine if this is affecting anyone else.

Thanks,
Ray
