That menu option worked fine for me on my Karmic box. Why not search
launchpad for your fault - there's a menu option for reporting bugs - if
you've not used launchpad no wonder you think that nobody tests
anything! You'll see there lots of bug reports from the many thousands
of people who try the beta releases and then report the bugs they find,
and the many people who use releases and report faults, sometimes fixes
making their way into updates and hopefully the next release.
It can be frustrating when things break for you but the thing to do is
to search for the bug in the bugtracker, not lament the uselessness of
it all..
