They are nonsense from the point of view that this list is dedicated to
Linux and the Wellington Linux User Group, aka WellyLUG. If it were a
generic chat list, then you would probably have a valid point.

The ire stems from people who post things to mailing lists that are
irrelevant to that list. It would have been perfectly acceptable for
Daniel to express his opinion via private email. The public list is not
the venue for that.

Not having clicked on the link, my only question is what's that got to
do with Linux and WellyLUG?

If the answer is nothing, then it doesn't belong on this list.

People subscribe to this list to learn about and discuss Linux, not to
be frowned upon by those who believe they used inappropriate (by the
complainant's standards) terminology.

It's irrelevant. Keep it off the list. Find another venue to discuss
this because all you're doing is creating noise here.

Just stop. Don't reply to this. Stop replying to the other messages in
this thread. And if you feel you must, do it off-list.
