[wellylug] DVD Boot

I have a quad AMD on a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H mbd with amongst other 
things both a cd writer and a dvd double layer writer.  The latter is 
set as ide master.  It boots fine from the cd secondary drive but will 
not boot from the dvd drive, which has become increasingly necessary.  I 
discovered it first when attempting to load Win7 into Virtualbox over 
Ubuntu 10.4.  Once booted, the drive works so it is a mbd issue, not an 
OS problem?  I have looked online to see if I could find a definitive 
comment but have found nothing that help much.  Am I right in concluding 
that the mbd cannot boot a dvd drive?
