John: I didn't run into the problem of pre-existing credentials when I did my install. I had the system running off the CD initially but don't remember having to log-in. Once I'd done the install via the desktop icon and blitz'd the disk it was running with my own user supplied logins.

A quick google reveals the username "guest" with a blank password might be worth a shot.
