Carrying out so many Windows installs is what bred my familiarity with
Windows too.
In fact it's interesting that of recent times, as my direct exposure to
administering Windows systems has dropped, so has my degree of
familiarity in terms of troubleshooting complex issues. I do still run
a couple of WinXP machines and a Windows 7 Starter edition, so I have to
keep my hand in.
In fact my dual-boot netbook is in Windows most of the time presently,
as Ubuntu has developed a nasty wifi bug that basically means I can't
use it anymore unless I'm connected via Ethernet! Which is causing my
work requirements no end of hassle, as that's done in Linux, and now
confines me to my office. Havn't found any useful debug or error
messages that'll help me troubleshoot or even raise a bug report yet...
(anyone?)
Mark.
