[wellylug] mp3 plugin for Banshee

Hi all

I'm trying to download a mp3 plugin for Banshee so I can play my mp3
Library, and was told to enter this:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

So I did and:

glenn at glenn-F5RL:~$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
[sudo] password for glenn:

Reading package lists... Error!

E: Encountered a section with no Package: header

E: Problem with MergeList
/var/lib/apt/lists/nz.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_binary-i386_Packages

E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

Can someone tell me whats gone wrong and suggest what I should do to fix it.
