Oh of course, I would be happy to host it myself, or can keep with the
current
hosting. Though I am aware of the "advertising" problems that I
wouldn't really
call problems ;)

I'm thinking that I will use the following:
- Mailing list
- IRC
- Public ICAL, also distributed via mailing list
- Meetup
- Twitter
- Facebook
If anyone has strong opinions on those, let me know. If it is to do
with CIA
knowing how drunk you get, I won't care, just don't get drunk (or let
the world
know you do). If it is to do with randoms thinking you are friends, I
don't
care, just don't accept them as friends. If it is because you don't
want to sign
up to service X, I don't care, don't sign up, and use one of the other
communication
avenues :P
(You may notice that my general answer may just be "I don't care",
unless there is
something that myself and a billion others have not noticed ;)

I would also agree with a simple static site, such as with the style of
http://wellington.pm.org :D, can work on something a bit more dynamic
after we
get up an running for a bit.
