Hi,

Is there a presentation lined up for July? If not, would the group be
interested in a presentation on Plone, a user friendly and powerful
Content Management System? It is used to build cool websites. Of
course, it is free and open source :)

Plone sites have features like this:
      * option for HTML / plain text e-mail newsletters based on
        powerful templating and flexible content criteria
      * on the fly conversion of Word and OpenOffice documents to HTML
        including images
      * CMS stuff like "roles" (e.g. member, reviewer, administrator)
        and workflow (getting content through the publishing process)
      * great handling of content types like events and news items,
      * powerful form validation
      * integrated discussion forums
      * programmatic creation of PDFs for use in e-mails and elsewhere
      * ease of use to build new content types including code
        construction from UML class models
      * because it is on Zope, you can do anything python can do,
        including integrating it with other cool platforms like twisted
        to do things like data transformation and conversion on a unit
        other than the web server

This is a Plone-based site I am working on (hopefully to be launched
within the next week or two):

This is the main Plone website:

BTW my last WellyLUG meeting for some years will be this July. I am
heading off overseas to study.

Best wishes,
Damon
