Simon from Citylink has an FTP server and we as a LUG may be able to =
nicely
ask him to host the files and maybe give some access to keep them =
updated.
I have been talking to Simon in regards to hosting Lycoris ISO files, so =
I
can easily ask him about the rest if people agree.
As I said in my previous e-mail, I am willing to keep the drive contents
up-to-date and will bring it to both the LH and WGTN meetings for =
members to
use / borrow.
Regards
Michael

Subject: Re: [wlug_org] Hard-Drive for Caddy
I believe the value of a hard drive is as a repository of files, poss =
ISO's
for
members. The problem has been access to it.
If we stick a drive in the caddy, is anyone interested in/able to host =
it
for
members. ie, downloading relevant ISO's & keeping it online as an ftp =
server
for members to download from? Prob with a link (by Jethro of course) =
from
our
web site...
Then perhaps also bring it to meetings for members to copy files from.
If we could have it on-line, I think it would be much more useful for
members.
I know a couple of commercial interests that may be prepared to host it,
depending on traffic. If this is a possibility, then purchasing a =
reasonable
drive for it may be worth doing?
Let me know if you think this worth pursuing & I (& anyone else with
contacts)
can see if we can get someone to host it (or sponsor the hosting, in =
which
case
would it still be OK to have Debian ISO's? :-)
