I think it's close enough to why the information was collected (ie, to
attend the installfest) that most people would expect that it's part of
the purpose of collecting the information (ie, having a good
installfest, including next time).

I don't have a problem with a single questionare being sent out to the
people who signed up for the installfest asking them for their feedback.
As Jethro and Brent suggest it'd be useful to have some structure to
that message to get the most benefit from the message.
It would probably also be worth mentioning (a) why they're being emailed
('cause they signed up for the installfest) and (b) that it's a one time
followup questionare.
