If they wanted it, they would subscribe. Only 20 odd have last time I checked,
the others have voted with their feet. They clearly don't want to be bothered
with it. Respect their decision. I find your suggestion ironic, on one hand
let's get back to basic Linux stuff without all this politicking, then say that
everyone has to partake in all the politicking, even if only a few want to.

Precisely. The members effectively say some guidelines are good idea, those who
are interested see what you come up with, then come back & let's see it. So
those of us with an interest in come up with summat we think reasonable, the
members then decide if they want it or not.

Where's the issue? Nothing is forced on any majority by a minority. The desires
of most of the mebers are being met...

Not all.... & I know several who were quite annoyed that a LUG member posted to
say how useless Linux was & they didn't wanna see it again. They felt such
posts negative & inappropriate for a LUG list. There were some that felt the
guidelines should specify such messages were not appropriate. We didn't go that
far. (whispers of censorship by the cabal in the background)

As did I. The LUG should have a space for us all, even all those in error who
disagree with me.

What I'd be more concerned about is that some of those who are NOT on the org
list, & have no political interest are pissed off with some of your comments.

Personally, I enjoy thought provoking differences of opinion & wouldn't like to
the WLUG degraded to a whole lot of like minded sheep, unlike some.
