Commitees are such an archaic concept, and I have spent too much time being involved in
completely disfunctional ones. A traditional form of organising things to me seems to be inappropriate
for something such as Linux. It's just a word, but it's word that I think is wrong for us :-)

This is already agreed. It's Colin proposal that we all voted in favour
of the last meeting, and what I quoted in the second draft. Plus it's
what I told everyone at InstallFest :-)
i.e
our goals which are:
a) To exchange Linux and Open Source Software knowledge and experience.
b) To encourage the use of Linux and Open Source Software

OK. We can modify the bit that refers to mailing list rules.
How about:
4. No advertising on the list. If you must, then please take it
offlist. This is a strict requirement, and is requested by our
mailing list service provider. It is done principally to prevent
unsolicted commercial advertising. Please respect this.
