now where did we get to on this?

last I recall it was getting bogged down in complexity.

We had a proposal, which was seconded three times, followed by books of
stuff from our favourite author, at which point I lost the point of the
thread.

But I seem to recall it was essentially (i.e by reviewing the thread:

A) "..The org list members [and cabal] agree that the final say
regarding any LUG issue will be a meeting based vote of the members..."

B) "..The means of ensuring the members are best informed and involved
in the discussions and decision making process(es) prior to the actual
vote will be by concensus of the org list (which anyone can join!).."

C) "..We [do] the electronic voting to do a 'pre' vote, which gets the
public opinion to the org list. .."

D) "..a more managed (i.e org_team agrees on the contents of the poll
prior to) use of the poll/voting system (complete with web based user
authentication) as a form of "market research" to assist us in
determining the views of the LUG prior to an real_issue vote. This
information is the input of those who for what ever reason are not
motivated to join the org_list, BUT do have an opinion..."

Given that Jethro was one of the seconders, and he is the guy who has
been involved in creating the polls, I would say that that is tacit
approval to carry out suggestion D) from now on. Given that A,B & C are
implicitly linked to D), is it fair to say we have something we can move
forward on?
