Was contacted by a member of "NZLug" on #WellyLUG last night, to propose
this to the Org members of WellyLUG - although in having said that I
don't see the harm in sending it out to the main list, but this could be
considered political - and they don't care about it.

************* E-mail From Mark Foster ******************************
NZLUG is looking to undergo a lot of changes - to try to dispel the
'NZLUG is just Auckland' myth.

Likely (but not decided yet) is the formation of AuckLUG and an attempt
to revitalise NZLUG as a All-of-NZ Linux discussion forum, which can
operate in conjunction with, and in support of, the regional Lugs.

I'd love to run some ideas past the WellyLUG Members and get their
thoughts on this, so if we can get together one evening when i'm down
there - drinks at a pub or non licensed location if required for young
people ? ;-) - and have a bit of a ragchew session - that'd be neat.

At this stage my Monday and Tuesday nights are booked, but Wed or Thur
would be ideal (First week of July). Let me know if this is feasible and
i'll await a response :-)

Cheers!

***Personal Note***
A while ago I made similar comment just before I left Auckland with
regards to the "NZLUG" being an Auckland only thing, and everyone
ignored it, but this point of view seems to be changing.

I did propose that the NZLUG be the main list where meeting
notifications, events, and general information got sent - so a low noise
list with LUG relevant information being posted - they did not like this
idea... another comment was having a hierarchical domain structure to
make it easy for people to find local lugs:

linux.net.nz (parent)
	- nzlug.linux.net.nz
	- wellylug.linux.net.nz
	- aucklug.linux.net.nz
	- dunlug.linux.net.nz

these were all just comments I made at a meeting, and in private with
other members, who shared a similar view - I moved to Wellington, and
gave up on it but it's good to see it's being shot about again.

Anyway, just something to think about, and discuss.
