Hmmm... not sure I'd call it a myth, NZLUG has had a pretty Auckland centric
focus in the past. But this step has my support (in principle).

I'm unavailable for anything in person for a couple of weeks... but have some
comments (don't I always? :-)
We already have the NZOSS for political stuff affecting Linux & OSS generally.
I would hope that any NZLUG would try to guide/support rather than divide the
NZOSS regarding Linux issues. I don't believe fragmenting OSS representation is
a good thing.
One thing I think could be of value to NZ Linux users is a distro repository,
esp for Paradise users with the local traffic discount (ie: me!!). While we
have a few individuals trying to do this, I think a national repository would
be a positive step, poss with designated individuals looking after specific
distros to help spread the workload, and ensure that someone with an interest &
some knowledge of each distro is involved.
(FYI: I'm typing this on a PC in an internet cafe in Minneapolis running
Linux!!! Way to go!! Support Dunn Bros. Coffee :-)
