The only thing that I was receiving at that time (my cable modem was
mostly out too), was a huge volume of ARP traffic (eyeballing it, I'd
say it was considerably higher than the usual 50-100 ARP requests a
second -- but I didn't try to measure it).  If you too were receiving
a high volume of ARP traffic, then I think it's probably a symptom of
things being broken, rather than the cause of it.

Anyway thanks for the note that the site was down.
