hi all,
in light of a recent discussion, it became apparent that we do need some
system of dealing with people in the event that they did continue to
break rules.
I discussed this on the org list, and since there was no complaints,
I've decided to announce it. If you wish to discuss it, please use the
ORG list, or contact me off-list.
THE PROCESS:
The way it will work, is that when there is an advertisement posted,
either Me, Jeremy or Ewen will post a friendly notification message of
our no advertising policy. This will ideally prevent "annoyed" people
from emailing in with their own response.
Then, if the person is a repeat offender, we can talk to them off list,
and in the event that they keep failing to learn their lesson, we could
look at de-listing them.
The process looks like this:
1st offense) Friendly reminder of no advertising posted to the list
2nd offense) Friendly reminder of no advertising posted to the list
AND a warning posted off-list
3rd offense) Friendly reminder of no advertising posted to the list
AND a final warning posted off-list
4th offense) Friendly reminder of no advertising posted to the list
AND The offender is de-listed
AND The offender is given an email explaining why they
were de-listed.
AND The org group is informed.
The process above is around advertising, but it could also apply to
other unacceptable postings.
this is effective from now, any queries or problems can be discussed on
the org list, or to me off-list.
thanks,
--
