Dev-Zone seeks an intelligent self starter with strong communications
skills and a broad range of technical expertise to join our friendly,
committed team. The position is based in our central Wellington Office.
Dev-Zone has a small team - eight full time and five part time, plus
occasional contractors - operating in an open plan office environment.
The successful applicant will provide support for Dev-Zone staff
computing needs, maintain the local area network, servers and 
Internet services. Experience with web design would be an advantage.
There will be opportunities to develop Dev-Zone services and participate
in projects. The Dev-Zone network comprises Windows OS and Linux OS
client machines with Linux servers. Primary client applications 
include MS Office 2000, MSIE, Open Office, Mozilla, Pegasus Mail,
Evolution, Inmagic. LAN network services include Samba authentication,
file and print services. Internet services include Apache, PHP, Perl,
MySql,Postnuke.

The IT Support Officer includes the following roles:
User Support
LAN Maintenance and Support
Internet Services and Connectivity
Web Services and Support.

Organisation Description:
The Development Resource Centre (Dev-Zone) is a not-for-profit
non-government organisation (NGO), providing information and education
services on international aid and development, and global issues.
Dev-Zone is a national organisation based in Wellington, Aotearoa New
Zealand.  Our vision statement is "Change for a just world", and our
mission is to "inform and educate people to empower them to take action
to create a just world".
