On the day of the last meeting OSNews.com announced that Gobe Productive (an
office suite - http://gobe.com/gp/ ) was to be released under the GPL:
  http://osnews.com/story.php?news_id=1520
You can download a slightly outdated demo from:
  http://www.gobe.com/downloads/gobe_linux_x86_install.tgz (9.9MB)

It has a Word Processor, Vector Graphics editor, Bitmap Graphics editor,
Presentation, and a Spreadsheet. Productive is available for Linux, Windows,
and BeOS and has been under development for 4 years. I've tried the Linux
version on a P120 and the performance wasn't too bad (the word processor is
faster than Abiword). The same OSNews.com story has further detail about the
suite.

It's generally more mature than Gnumeric and Abiword (ie, supports tables)
however this demo version is unstable. If a current version is released it
might be something to consider.
