Hello Don,

I went through that once.
What I did :

* boot from install floppy
* do not install but upgrade --> so, no table partition modification
* select "choose the packages" or whatever it is called.
* choose a meaningless RPM 
* finish the procedure with installing lilo when requested
* reboot

I have done that once, and got all my RH7.1 back plus the RPM I selected  and
removed by 
rpm -e onemoregimmick.4-15.rpm 
Should be ok with Mandrake. It is not the most elegant solution but it works.
