Do you mean it is as easy as d/loading and installing as on a win box
when you just click on the .exe and dont have to know anything else?
I guess I would really like a nice browser like netscape and
a good WP.

So this would overwrite entirely my current distro?

I am still asking about our internet connection, as I do not understand
it at all., Can we both be connected at the same time as now?
i.e. with Mandrake , who would be dialling in. Could I manage
the whole thing and also ADSL without help, is it all really
easy and a GUI?
The weird reason I have hung onto my linux is that I love the
keyboard and hate the mouse, hence I use mutt , slrn etc
The current scenario is that we have just moved here from Melb
and I have always relied on help to keep my system going. Now I have
no browser, I have been walked thru a re install but problems are the same.
I know that I cannot maintain my own system. Like the current problem,
why did it start? How come things change?
I need to get AWAY from Debian as I am unable to operate the damn thing.
I must have something soon that I can manage, update, upgrade, download
and install programs, and do all myself, including setting up a network
with XP, getting us both online, getting ADSL set up. I still dont
know if we need another pc for this, we have a spare win box in the cupboard!
I need help with the issue of all my current files which I MUST keep
at all costs, years of info I need all the time etc.

We are in Elsdon, I really dont want to keep this system for reasons I rattled
on about above.!
The bottom line is, am I capable, being so hopeless, of having linux
at all and doing everything I ask, or should I just go get the
new iMac 1GHz X OS ??????
Whoever got this far, thanks for your patience
