We use imp to access our Exchange Server over the web (Exchange's in-built
'Outlook Web Access' client is fairly hopeless), and have used it to view
mail on other non-Microsoft imap servers too.

It supports LDAP as far as I am aware, although we haven't managed to get it
to interface with Exchange address lists so we haven't really explored this.
There is also a calendar plug-in (again, not shared with Exchange, so we
haven't gone far with it).

The main drawback we have found is that it takes a while for the contents of
an IMAP folder to appear if there are a lot of messages. Once the mailbox
is open though, imp is quite powerful -- supports searching messages, for
example.

It is easy to customise (per user) and each user can have multiple profiles.

Can't hurt to give it a go -- you'll need mysql (or maybe another db if imp
supports it) installed, then plonk the imp files in var/www/whatever... and
do basic configuration. Presto.

Cheers
Tony
