[wellylug] moving to a 2.5 kernel from 2.4

I've tried to get the 2.5.69 kernel to compile. I can get it to compile
ok, but it keeps crashing at bootup. I've tried building a new
configuration & also make old, but no luck.
Kernel 2.4.20 compiled fine, except that it has errors compiling into a
rpm...

    I've been thinking I might try a 2.5 series kernel for my desktop - it

    It sounds as though it's not as simple as compiling a new kernel and
    adding a lilo stanza; I understand various things have changed or moved
    (like the structure of /proc etc). I've tried Googling for a description
    of what a 2.4 -> 2.5 migration would entail but I can't find anything
    specifically on that topic.

    Have any of you tried this? Any advice?
