Have you checked to see if there's a 'SuSE 8.2 For Dummies' book?
They're quite good, and they have books from beginner to advanced.

You might find it quite usefull.

Currently, there is no Dummies Suse specific edition, but I have the Linux 
for Dummies and that is a help, but it's more a matter of identifying just 
what the dozens of apps in Suse do, and how to achieve a specific task when 
I don't know which app to use. I'll have a look at the Sams, anyway.
If anyone else can come to the "help Alison" party, I'd be very grateful.

Apologies, people, if my posts here don't appear in the usual/acceptable 
format, but I'm learning how to use news-groups too. Potential for "duh" all 
around.
