I use a Zalman CNPS6000-CU inside an Antec Sonata case for my home rig. Both
items employ large, slow moving fans to move the air through the system. This
keeps things cool BUT more importantly, quiet.
However, I am guessing that all the other items in your system are contemporary
with the celeron? I am also assuming that heat and power aren't really an
issue since it's lived this long without trouble? If so, you may find that
installing all your internals into a (comparatively expensive) low-noise case
will just show up the noisy hard drives and cpu cooler etc.
If it were me considering this scenario, I dont think I could justify the
expediture incurred vs buying a new low end system. Instead, I would spend a
little time servicing (or maybe replacing) the existing noisy case and PSU fans,
then rubber mount them, together with hard drives and anything else that
moves/vibrates. It might be a bit of effort/time, but I believe this would
yield the best noise/cost ratio.
