it's nice.....
Basically it's Ubuntu 5.10 with the addition of:
- The install disk and live CD are combined onto 1 disk.
- Graphical Installer
- Newer drivers
- Better auto detection of hardware
- New GNOME
- Better power management - hibernation and sleep works fine for me. :-)
- Polish on everything.
Everything worked out-of-the-box on my laptop, except:
- wifi (ndiswrappers fixed that)
- screen (I had to install 915resolution for the intel chipset. But
unlike last time, I didn't have to configure it)
So I'm impressed. :-) The GNOME polish, and the "Human" theme looks
great. Works fine on Celeron M 1.5Ghz, 768MB ram.
And if you have a decent video card (aka: 3D support), and know what a
CLI is, you can easily setup your system to use the new XGL desktop.
If you hadn't tried it, go and get it now! :-) It's only 1 CD, unlike
some of the other distros these days...
