[wellylug] Google Earth

Hi, there are a few things you can try:

a) See if DRI is enabled (Direct Rendering allows the software to direct
access the hardware on the graphics card = fast graphics)
Do this in a console window: "cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep DRI"
(without quotes)
This SHOULD return (I suspect it won't)
(II) Loading extension XFree86-DRI
(**) SAVAGE(0): DRI is enabled
(II) SAVAGE(0): [DRI] installation complete

b) Another thing to try is in a console window run "glxgears -printfps"
This will give an indication of generally how speedy your graphics are
running (on my machine (with no DRI) I get around 150ish and GoogleEarth
is very slow as well)

BTW- when you start googleearth, it mentions an OpenGL problem and says
it will run in Software Emulation right?
