We have it without, though of course they may have changed their policy
since we got it. But I think they still might do it if you ask nicely.

We use SIP from italk/slingshot with asterisk (with an ATA for the old
phones [incl cordless] and a couple of VOIP phones).

$flatmate is probably watching and could provide more details if
required/inclined.
