[wellylug] Making new CD for Ubuntu 8.04

I have been trying to install Ubuntu 8.04 on a system I built with spare 
parts. There were 2 copies of the install CD I made a year or two back. 
Each one hangs up around the part where the drive is being partitioned.

I was told that the recording media has had its surface worn off and can 
no longer be used. The only thing left is to create a new one. and go 
from there.

What's your best advice, guys?
