A quick google of your error shows the following post in ubuntuforums 
(and other places):

with the solution being to run the following:

sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf
sudo apt-get update

You should then be able to successfully run the command to install 
ubuntu-restricted-extras.
