[wlug_org] Linux hardware

Thanks Ewen
The problem that I have is that my Dual P3 box only has PCI slots and
doesn't support disks bigger then 137GB. SME Server 6 supports soft RAID-1
out of the box (works quite well on a clients server) but not RAID-5, so I
need a card to handle both RAID-5 and disks bigger then 137GB.
I think I'm between a rock and a hard place. :-[

Sure. Asking for people to sell it to you would be a problem. Asking for
someone to suggest what card to get is fine; learning from other people's
experiences is after all the point of the group.

PS: The Linux software RAID is pretty good these days, and I'd recommend
using it over most cheap PATA/SATA "hardware" RAID cards. (The
performance is usually better than even cheap real hardware RAID
cards like the cheaper 3Ware ones.)
